I am not a technical expert, but I would imagine it would be possible to upgrade the accord coupe brakes to the brembo's used on the TL type S, at least in the front.
What tecnical issues would this raise, if any? What about the standard TL brakes? are they the same size or larger than the coupe's? I ask because those brakes look small to me, especially behind 18 in wheels. I think the stock brake is 11 in. Many of the euro cars are up to 13-14 inches for front brakes! Any technical specialists that can field this q? Also, as always, $ is an issue....can it be done at a reasonable cost? Can the dealer do it? And, will there be any effect on the warranty? Thanks T |

Hopefully I can help point you in the direction to start. If the Knuckles are the same from the TL-S and the new Accord coupe then it will probably work. I t could be as easy as a direct swap. As far as best bang for the buck. I would see if you could put on some dual pisotn calipers on the Accord. I own a 7th gen V6 6-speed and the dual piston calipers from the 1994 Acura Legend bolt up to the brackets with no problems. I have had them on for about three months now and there is a noticable feel in the braking. It costs me about $160 after it was all said and done. You can email a guy named Brian from FastBrake Enterprises, LLC - Intro He gave me alot of info and helped me out along the way. Since the 8th gen Accord is so new it might be a little while before any info gets out. I do know if the rotors are 11.1 inches then they will be a good fit. It would then depend on what brackets they use. Good luck.

I think were just going to go with Brembo blanks, Hawk pads and a good set of SS lines. This will help braking big time and be a bit more friendly on the wallet. Although TL brakes would look sweet!
