All the dealerships tell me the is only 1 lx-s coupe manual Accord in the state of California right now. I am getting kind of tired of asking around.
Wbb1211 what do you think about custom ordering one? One of my friend custome ordered a mercedes benz c class and even though he had to wait 6 months, he got 9% off total at the end. Do you think Honda would offer something like that? |

I would see what you can do online. Some of the dealers here in Texas are taking orders on 09 FIT'S. You might have to put something down and order one like your friend did. I don't know what the production numbers are for 2009 so you might have to go online and see what dealer has one coming in and when and what color etc. Would be good as well to save up some cash to put down while you are looking. Could also consider a civic they are nice as well. Might not be a bad idea to look at one of them and consider the availability and price difference on the civic compared to the accord. You might even be able to find a nice end of year deal on a 08 civic which would free up your wallet. I liked my 2006 civic coupe and should have kept it. You can even get them in leather now.

oh I dont have credit, so I went out and found my own private loan at 5.9% interest rate. This loan requires me to put 35% of the car's price for down.
haha so yeah I am putting a big amount for down payment. =] I didnt know that car deaerships' website would post what is coming into the lot on their website. I'll check up on this. Thanks Last edited by notoriousplng : 09-05-2008 at 08:57 PM. |

Well It depends on the dealer and their web site. I know some list their current inventory. If you are serious about getting a car they should work with you. You I would not give one penny over MSRP. I refused to on my car they try to give you this market value BS but when you go to trade it you don't get it back. I big down payment and pre-approved loan will make cutting a deal more easy for you. The dealers will try to get you to sign for a loan with a much higher interest rate because they make money on it. Where I got my car they broke and sold me the car for MSRP but then jacked me on the interest but I just went to my credit union and refinanced for 3% less on the interest rate and they even extended out the loan to 72 months. I still pay what the loan was originally set at but if I hit hard times I don't have to or if I don't I just pay the car off early. I also don't think they can charge me interest on what extra money I send each month. One thing for sure is make a smart purchase! It is only a car and I know how bad one can want one but in the long run a smart purchase will help you out big time. Don't let a dealer push you around you might have to walk out or refuse their deal online. I had to tell them like 5 times that they were full of it and to go get my civic back that it was a nice car and I didn't need the accord that bad that my civic was a nice car. I had a 06 si and at times I still miss it, it was a lot of fun.

Yea it didn't have the speed limiter and or govenor that the 2007 on did. I think it had a max speed of like 147 mph. Not bad for a little 2.0 I4. I think the civic's are great little cars for the price. The Si over time got to be a little rough riding for a every day car. If I was younger I dought I would of bothered me.

Yea there was a lot of debate on that issue on the 8th civic site. I heard that honda from the factory put some additives in their oil to aid in the break in of the engine and some claimed they didn't. Honda engines seem to be tight. So for sure don't hurt to be easy on it for the first few thousand miles and to do what Honda recommends. I also think Honda recommends to vary your RPM as well. My 06 Civic si seemed to get better MPG as I reached 30k on the odometer.

I would bet you made the right decision! That car I bet will serve you well. The web site for the civic's is 8thCivic.com - 8th Generation Civics You can also just google 8th civic and it will come right up. So what color did you get. They had a nice sedan where I went to day. It was a automatic with leather and navi. I just didn't like the color. They had another just like it in ablaster silver with out leather. It looked like the sedan has a larger trunk. The one with leather also had a fold down arm rest with cup holders which was nice. good luck with the new car!
