Convince me to get the Coupe!!

I drove a Silver Ridgeline until Katrina and gas went up. I traded to a silver 06 Si no nav. Traded that for a Habi Si w/nav. Now, I'm hoping for a trade to 08 Accord EX-L Coupe V6 / AT. Put down a deposit yesterday. Won't know color till Monday. The dealer has located four w/nav in a 300 mile redius. Hope I'm doing the right thing....

Well with all the trading in you might give up what you put down on some of your old cars or end up with negitive equity on a new one. That is the bad thing on trading cars so often.

You're right of course. I've lost countless dollars already. I'm not rich, but I see money as a means of making it through the day making sure I end the day content.

I did have fun with all my cars, especailly the Si's. But i'm over sixty and this car is really for the younger folks. Doing some research, I should see close to the same mpg w/ the V6 coupe, at the price of a regular versus premium. After test driving both V6 sedan and coupe w/AT, it is like night and day compared to the Si. The coupe reminds me of the fastbacks of the sixties, with the sporty but luxurious feel of the modern high end cars. The coupe is about 500 lbs heavier than the Si. But even with the 78 hp advantage of the coupe, the Si has about 15 hp per pound to the accord 13 hp/lbs. and the Si has about 20 lbs torgue versus 14 lbs of the V6. The smoothness of the accord coupe V6 trumps everything. I will miss the Si...

Well if you don't mind the money issue then go for it. I traded in my 2006 si coupe for a 2008 Accord EXL V6 with 6 speed manual. I love the car and you are right with your description IMO. The si was just getting to be a little to uncomfortable and noisy for my only car so I switched to the accord. I took it for a 2700 mile road trip and it was much nicer than the si. I did like my si a lot but wanted a more comfortable and smoother riding car which the Accord Coupe seemed to be just that.

Thanks wbb1211 for the responses. I won't know till Monday which color I'm getting. I wonder if there was a poll already taken as to which color is the favorite pick. I told the sales guy, if there was to be a choice of color EX-L V6 Coupe w/nav to pick from, my preference in this order is metallic grey, black, blue or red (not the white as it only comes with the ivory interior).

By the way, I do have the option of placing an order for a 2009. Does anyone know if there would be an advantage to waiting for an 09? Are there any changes from the 08?

As far as color goes I live where it get way hot(in the south). Because of that I go with light colors. I also only had one color to choose from and it was Tafattea white. Which was good for me because when I move from Dallas back to florida the water there leaves bad white spots on your car. It jacked up my black Trail Blazer. Not sure about the 2009 I dought much if anything will change. Look at the Civic and see how much has changed on it since 2006. I would think it would come down to these 2 things. #1 how fast you want to get the car and #2 getting the car the way you want it. If you want it fast you might have to give up on some of the options you want on the car such as color and or Navi. If you are willing to wait you might be able to get the car with everything you want. Honda only produced 1000 out of 40,000 2008 Accords in the 2 door coupe with the V6 and 6 speed manual transmission. So you either got lucky or settled for what was on the lot because they would go fast. I am not sure how many Honda produced with the automatic trans.

Well, no more decisions to make. Took the plunge and got a black EX-L V6 AT. What a beauty.

Well congrats! Black is nice loooking. I just can't stand to keep it clean and I don't like it in the hot south. The water in Florida did a job on my black Trail Blazer. It leaves a white spots that are like impossible to get off. Where you able to get any options on the car? Would be cool to see some pictures when you get the chance.
