FIRST TURBO THREAD - Where are we putting the intercooler???
Alright, someone had to do it, now let's get to it.
Let's face it, we are going to turbo this car. Let's be honest, and say we aren't going to waste our time with anything but the manual V6 coupe (screw cylinder management). While were at it, let's talk twin turbos, since single will prove useless. So problem #1: Open the hood. Find the airbox. See that neat little part that looks like its running to the front of the car? It is! Yay, that looks like a factory cold/ram air intake! Ok now the sad realization. See that mesh looking thing, staring right at you in between the grille. Thats a radiator, and its a big one, that is packed in pretty damn tight. So where the hell are we going to put the FMIC? My guess is, we are not. We need a top mount, and we need a vented/scooped hood to suck air in. Discuss. -Freq Last edited by Freq18Hz : 05-19-2008 at 02:45 AM. |

Hmmm I work on engines in the Navy but this honda car thing is a little different. I am interested since a have the V6 with the 6 speed manual. Can you take a picture of under the hood and post it? I am at work and can't and I don't have a good camura either. How long do think it will be till we start to get any preformance parts for our cars other than a K&N air filter.

If the accord is anything like the latest civic, it could be awhile, because the biggest problem might be dealing with the ECU, and changing timing, cam angle, A/F. Hopefully the ECU isn't on lockdown like the Civic. Time will tell... -Freq |

Turbo is a long way away for this car...There is plenty of room for an I/C in the lower front bumper area. We still have no way to chip the ECU and we have a few other problems to work out before we will see turbo or S/C in these cars. The model is still very new. Look at the 7th Gen Accords. They have been out for years and you still cant chip the ECU on them.
