My EX 5AT review.
Ths is my 3rd Accord, I sold my first one on Craigs list before buying this one. It was and 89 LXi Coupe 5sp. 242K and still running well so I know what to expect.
My 98 is still a great running car and has been very good to me also. I picked a 2008 EX sedan in Polished Metal with the gray interior. I really like the better standard equipment on the EX level now compared to the previous generations. I would have loved automatic climate control but you have to get leather to enjoy that. I really did not want leather so I stuck with the EX. I feel leather dose not wear as well as Honda's fabric interiors. Especially when you keep the as long as my first Accord. The K24Z3 is very smooth at idle and really screams when you wind it up. MPG is ok as long as you stay out of it. I'm not totally sure too due to the weather here in Oregon being cold and wet since I bought it the first of October. It really rolls when it get up on the VTEC. Tranny works great. Only annoyance is when executing a California(rolling) stop it tries to start out in too high of gear and downshifts during acceleration. Chassis, its great to get the same Tire/Wheel suspension set-up as the V6 in 4cyl. Handles better than any previous model I have had. The size is great for my comfort and the family. Having a real power seat is a real plus now that its part of the EX package. Love that the outside mirrors are heated too now with the rear window unit. Stereo works great and I love the iPod jack in the console. Nice not having cord hanging down the IP like other makes do. Only issue I have had is an excessively noisy power steering pump that took a letter to Honda customer service to get dealer to swap it. Otherwise everything just works. Paul |
