Cool! I know some don't think much of the new accord but I think Honda did a good job on the car. Like the it states best rounded car and best value. I got the coup and I am impressed!

Did any of you see the one that Motor Trend did on the Accord Coupe, Altima Coupe and Mits Eclips? I think this new Accord Coupe with the 6speed MT could of used different tires. I think a good set of summer tires would improve several things. Mine spins the tires to easy. I think it could use some better traction.

When you have that much power....of course its gonna spin. I was going through rear tires on my 350z every 9000 miles and it only had 19 more HP.
Are we talking about the magazine or tv show...and how did the Accord fare against the other two? |

Just read their online site..
2008 Honda Accord Coupe vs 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse vs 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe - Comparison - Motor Trend they actually got a better trap speed in the 1/4 mile then car and driver. Motor Trend: 0-60 5.7sec 1/4 14.0 sec @ 102.5 mph Car and Driver: 0-60 5.6sec 1/4 14.2 sec @ 102.0 mph man these cars are quick....with sticky enough tires they can break 13's in the 1/4 mile. Not bad for an Accord. |

I was thinking the same. I am not a fan of the tires that Honda puts on them. I don't even want to see what they cost. They were like $265.00 each at costco for my si. For that kind of money I could have 2 sets of tires.

Tires are of the reasons I stayed with smaller rimes. I would like the bigger wheels of the V6 but not the tire prices. It is going to be hard, I just got rid of a car with 15s
Do many of you switch tires for summer/winter? I had a RWD car with blizzaks and those things stuck like nothing else in snow/ice. |

if you get a lot of snow and ice it would be a good idea to get a set of junk rims and put snow tires on them and save your nicer rims and tires for the better part of the year. That is what my mother does up on Ohio.

Anyway, I have never felt that the VSA while launching. Regarding the tires, I have the standard all weather Michelin. I can't wait to get some quieter summer tires. Last edited by need-for-accord : 04-11-2008 at 08:57 PM. |
