To Nav, Or Not To Nav. That is the Q!

I love technology! Who doesn't?
But, when I think about spending an additional 10%, or thereabouts, for a nav system, I get a giant doubtful feeling in my stomach!
More stuff to go wrong...spending more money than I have to...something that I probably won't use...
I can almost hear my parents telling me to save that money for something that I really need.

At the same time...
better resale value...the world's greatest Nav system...and that really cool blue-tooth cell phone feature (that every car should come with as standard equipment by now, anyways!!!)...

So, what to do?
One part of me says...I rarely, if ever, travel by car to a place that I don't know where it is...at the same time....if I did, it would be nice to be able to find it without having to drive around looking for it randomly, let alone ask for directions!

Can anyone help me? There must be some really good arguments for getting nav, that will satisfy my economic instincts!
I am lost in a technological quandry.....
